Great Wave Desk Mat — Japanese Art XL Extended Mouse Pad
Price range: $39.95 through $69.95
Hokusai’s wave redrawn wide for a desk instead of cropped to fit one — the crest breaking left, the trough opening under your keyboard, clean sky on the right for your mouse.
- Three sizes — 24″×14″ for a keyboard and mouse, 36″×18″ for most desks, 48″×24″ for the whole surface
- White stitched hem on all four edges — the part that frays first is sewn shut
- Non-slip rubber base — it stays where you put it, mid-clutch or mid-deadline
- Dye-sublimated print — colour sits inside the fibre, so it can’t crack, peel or wash out
- Wipe clean — damp cloth, mild soap, dry flat
- Free US shipping — damaged or misprinted, we replace it free

The only design here older than the internet
Everyone knows the wave. Almost nobody has seen it drawn at desk proportions — it’s normally a square print squashed sideways until the foam looks wrong.
Deep indigo, foam white, a flat pale sky. It’s the one that makes a setup look like someone with taste lives there, and it works just as well over a laptop and a notebook as over a mechanical keyboard.
What makes this one different
- Composed wide from the start — not a square painting stretched to fit a rectangle.
- Empty sky on the right gives your mouse clean, quiet ground to move across.
- Ages well. This one has been good since 1831; it will outlast whatever your setup looks like next year.
“Hokusai has been printed on everything for two hundred years, mostly badly cropped. The test I set was simple: does the crest break where it should at this size? This one does. That is the whole reason it is here.”

Who it isn’t for
If you want RGB-adjacent and neon, look at Neon District or Synthwave Sunset instead.
The rest of the set: Great Wave Mouse Pad · Great Wave Poster — same artwork, drawn again for each surface. See all desk mats.
Three sizes. Pick the one that matches your desk, not your budget — the 36″ is the one most people wish they had bought.
