Wooting 80HE — Rapid Trigger Hall Effect Keyboard

Hall-effect keyboards are the first genuine mechanical-keyboard innovation in a decade that actually changes how you play, not just how it sounds.

Who it's for

Competitive players in movement-heavy games — rapid trigger lets you reset a key the instant you lift, which measurably tightens counter-strafing and platforming.

Who should skip it

Typists and office users. You're paying a premium for a gaming feature you'd never use; a good tactile mechanical board is better and cheaper for writing.

What actually matters

• Rapid trigger — the key resets on release instead of at a fixed point.
• Adjustable actuation — set it shallow for games, deeper for typing.
• No physical switch contact, so there's nothing to wear out or chatter.
• Analogue input — some games read it like a controller stick.

The verdict

If you play competitive shooters seriously, this is the current state of the art and the reason pro keyboard choice shifted. If you don't, save the money.

A heavy board on a bare desk still sounds hollow — the surface under it does more than people expect. Browse our desk mats →
