NordVPN

Price on their site

Public Wi-Fi is a shared room where everyone can hear you. A VPN is the door.

Best for: People who travel, work from cafés, or want their ISP out of their browsing history. Also useful for accessing services region-locked away from you while travelling.

Skip it if: Anyone expecting it to reduce ping — it won’t. Routing through another server adds latency; a VPN is a privacy tool, not a performance one.

We don’t sell this — the button takes you to the retailer. It may be an affiliate link, at no extra cost to you.

Who it's for

People who travel, work from cafés, or want their ISP out of their browsing history. Also useful for accessing services region-locked away from you while travelling.

Who should skip it

Anyone expecting it to reduce ping — it won't. Routing through another server adds latency; a VPN is a privacy tool, not a performance one.

What actually matters

  • Encrypted tunnel on untrusted networks — the actual use case.
  • No-logs policy is the thing to verify with any provider.
  • Multi-device — phone, laptop and desktop on one subscription.
  • Split tunnelling so your game traffic can bypass the tunnel.

The verdict

Worth it if you're regularly on networks you don't control. Not a magic privacy shield, and not a gaming upgrade.
